CD Projekt Red might have managed to turn things around for Cyberpunk 2077 but that’s not enough to pacify investors who filed a class action lawsuit against the studio after the game’s disastrous launch two years ago.

The lawsuit sought to recover damages caused by the game’s abysmal performance on consoles last-gen consoles and allegedly misleading statements about the state of the game from the studio heads. The investors who filed the lawsuit are now due for a big pay day as CD Projekt Red agrees to settle to the tune of $1.85 million.

Ironically, the game managed to snag the “Labor of Love” award at this year’s player-voted 2022 Steam Awards beating out No Man’s Sky, Dota 2, Project Zomboid, and Deep Rock Galactic. Obviously, most of the community voted in favor of Cyberpunk 2077 for it to win the award which has quite a stir with the rest who have resorted to review bombing the game on Steam.

Meanwhile, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime adaptation on Netflix has gained quite a cult following since its first season came out in September, which the Cyberpunk 2077’s critics claim is the reason why it won the award in the first place.
