Conan Exiles Climbing Patch Delayed In Favor Of Unreal Update

conan exiles armoredIf you’ve been dying to reach the top of that sheer cliff face in Conan Exiles, your journey will just have to wait a little bit longer. Funcom is delaying the release of the climbing patch, which was scheduled to go live with the next update, in favor of upgrading the game to the latest Unreal version. The devs explain in yesterday’s dev blog:

“[. . .] We’re upgrading from Unreal 4.12 to 4.15. It’s a pretty big leap. This most recent version of the Unreal Engine allows to take advantage of some new features that will help us during the development process of Conan Exiles, for example optimization of both server and client, which should result in a smoother experience for all players.”

“What this means for the game is that the next update, which adds climbing to the game, won’t be released before the Unreal 4.15 version is ready to roll out,” says Funcom. Unfortunately, they have yet to announce a specific date for the climbing patch’s release. We’ll keep you posted as more details come out. In the meantime, watch Lead Designer Oscar Lacalle and community manager Jens Vaaler talk about the Conan Exiles climbing system in the video below.
