Conan Exiles Takes Players On A Culinary Adventure In The Exiled Lands

conan exiles house kitchenThere’s more to eating than just slapping down an unseasoned hunk of meat on the fire and chomping down on it when it’s done. We aren’t barbarians after all. Technically you are one in Conan Exiles, but that shouldn’t stop you from serving that juicy steak with perfectly cooked eggs and a steaming bowl of Darfari Bug soup, and maybe even pairing it with a refreshing glass of cactus wine.

Conan Exiles talks about their expanded food system in a recent dev blog. The new food and drink system went live with the release of the Frozen North expansion and adds a whole new dimension to the sandbox survival game.

“Needing food and water at regular intervals can be somewhat of a hassle in both real life and survival games. But just as in real life, where eating and drinking can be a source of great pleasure and fulfillment, eating and drinking has been made much more interesting, helpful and fun in Conan Exiles with the Frozen North expansion update.

You can now make a host of great dishes, made from all types of food, and also brew great wine or alcohol beverages.”

Taking the time to “properly” cook your meals will not only sate your hunger and thirst, but also give you powerful buffs to make your journey through the Exiled Lands that much easier. “All the different types of food and drinks you can now make in Conan Exiles are not just fancy names and pretty icons,” says Funcom, “many of them do way more than just quench your thirst or fill your stomach.”

The first thing you’ll need to begin your culinary adventure is a full kitchen, complete with a stove, dryer, grinder, fluid press, and a fermentation barrel. You can then scour the world for recipes and ingredients and start cooking up a storm.

According to Funcom, the current system isn’t final and players should expect the food system to change in the future. The devs also plan to add a variety of new new recipes like honey jerky, honey-glazed roast, and ice tea.
