Funcom knows that hardcore survival game players want options. After all, playing on other players' servers and changing settings on your own is half the fun. That's why the company announced today that Conan Exiles will feature "full mod support on PC" and player-hosted servers.

Mod support on PC will be available from the beginning of Early Access. Those interested in creating mods will be required to download "a custom Unreal Engine editor" which can be used to create mods. The mods can then be uploaded to the Steam Workshop.

There will be several different ways to play Conan Exiles. Players will be able to host a local game that others connect to directly, Funcom will host several "official" servers, and players will be able to host their own "unofficial" server online. Those who don't have their own hardware to set up a server will also be able to "rent servers through Funcom's official server partner PingPerfect."
