Conan Exiles is expecting another game-changing update with the arrival of Age of Sorcery: Chapter 3. The upcoming chapter will not only conclude the ongoing Age of Sorcery narrative but will also introduce new features such as the new Golem Shaping system which is the focus of Funcom’s latest dev blog.

“The powerful sorcerer, Mek-Kamoses, has received a vision and has charged you with collecting a mysterious new resource for his ritual: Blood Crystals,” Funcom wrote. “When the ancient Giant Kings fell, it is said their blood seeped into the earth, where it remained for aeons, spreading beneath the world through ever-flowing rivers of molten rock.

After eons, the blood has cooled and hardened into crystals. At long last, it rises from the depths, charged with forces potent enough to animate the land itself. Seek out and slay these new creatures to tear the crystals from their bodies.”

Those Blood Crystals, along with golem parts, can be used to craft your very own golem sidekick using the Guardian Assembly Station. Golem parts can either be crafted using the Golem Workbench, looted throughout the game, or bought from Mek-Kamoses’ right hand, Master Carver Huang. The most powerful golems, however, are made up of pure Blood Crystal.

“To give your golem a weapon, it must be crafted together with the arm in the workbench, fusing them together,” explained the devs. “Depending on how you want to put your golem to use, you’ll want to equip it with the appropriate weapon type. For example, equip it with the scythe or sickle to make it efficient at gathering plants, or a maul for minerals. Some weapons are good for both gathering and fighting, such as an axe, which chops limbs and trees with equal efficiency.”

Your golem will not only gather resources for you but will also help you fight enemies so make sure to equip it with the right weapons, armor, and skills for maximum efficiency.

Chapter 3 will also revamp the multiplayer survival game’s Journey System, a.k.a. it’s tutorial system, to give players more information about each of the journey steps and its accompanying rewards. Funcom offers a rundown of the changes coming to the system in the new feature spotlight trailer below.
