It's been a while since we've heard anything substantial about Total War: ARENA. First, MOBA-esque entry in the Total War series was in Alpha. Then, it was in Closed Beta and available in a Humble Bundle. Then, suddenly, it was no longer playable. After months of silence following the closure of the game's Beta servers, it was announced that developer Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA had partnered with Wargaming, with Total War: ARENA becoming the first title to be published under the Wargaming Alliance label.

Now, two months after that announcement, Creative Assembly has begun a series of Developer Diaries that will chronicle the development of Total War: ARENA from this point on. The first Developer Diary provides a look at how Creative Assembly is working with Wargaming Alliance, "updates on the Alpha period," various tweaks that have been made to existing game mechanics, and some plans for the future.
