Phoenix Labs’ free-to-play monster-slaying MMORPG Dauntless has officially arrived on next-gen consoles featuring enhanced high-resolution visuals and faster-loading times. PlayStation 5 users will need to download the enhanced version of the game from the PlayStation Store while Xbox Series X|S will automatically receive the new version via Smart Delivery.

Today also marks the release of the latest patch in the game’s Call to Arms series of updates. Patch 1.8.3 introduces a new shock behemoth called Sahvyt. Taking down Ostia’s latest creation will reward Slayers with all-new materials and unlock new craftable gear. The Coldrunner Key and Boreal Outpost islands have also been given a makeover while Chain Blades have been revamped with new combos and animations.

“To make slaying with chain blades more engaging, we decided to give this well-loved weapon an extensive refresh. This involved giving each combo a combat role, balancing and refining the specials and mods to provide more effective and impactful build choices, and implementing various quality of life fixes.”

The team has also released a new Hunt Pass that showcases the Krolachi Warlords who will be helping Slayers defeat the new threat from Ostia.

“Ramsgate is looking to the Krolachi people for help in the coming conflict with Ostia. Unlock their brutal wastelander cosmetics in the latest Hunt Pass and explore the ongoing story through weekly quests.”

The full patch notes are already up on the Dauntless official site while the patch itself is scheduled to go live at 9am PST later today. In the meantime, why don’t you check out the new next-gen launch trailer and the new behemoth below.
