Destiny 2 Base Game Going Free to Play on September 17

Bungie announced yesterday that Destiny 2 will be going free to play on September 17, the same date the game's Shadowkeep expansion launches. Keep in mind though only the base game will be free to play. Expansions will continue to cost money. The free to play transition shouldn't be surprising as the game's price has fallen quickly since its launch and was even included in a Humble Bundle package.

This is the first major announcement since Bungie separated from Activision. Time will tell if the free to play move will bring in new players.
