It may have taken five years, but Bungie is finally uniting Destiny 2 players from all platforms with full cross-play support coming soon to the multiplayer FPS. The studio confirmed in a new dev blog that the highly-awaited feature will be rolling out alongside Season 15.

“In Season 15, cross-play comes to life. Guardians across Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and Stadia will be able to join fireteams to take on the darkness together. Boundaries will be broken and new friendships will be forged – no matter the platform.”

The cross-play team also outlined the changes coming to the game as part of the cross-play feature, which includes cross-save, naming changes to make in-game names consistent across all platforms, a new friends list, a friend search feature, improvements to fireteam invites, and separate PvP matchmaking for console and PC players.

Bungie has yet to announce a release date for cross-play, but if its rolling out in Season 15 we should be seeing it sometime in late August or September. We’ll let you know as soon as we get word. You can also head over to the Bungie official site for more info.
