We’re now halfway through Destiny 2’s latest season, which means that it’s time for Bungie shake up the current meta with a traditional mid-season balance patch. Depending on your preferred weapon, the changes are either going to make you jump for joy or curse the balance gods until the next balance update comes around.

The announcement reveals various adjustments to weapon archetypes, such as a slight reduction in the auto-aim angle for pulse rifles, an increased range for lightweight bows, improved visual clarity for the Shayura's Wrath ADS dynamic reticle, and a tightened shot spread for lightweight shotguns.

The exotic version of the Graviton Lance also received a significant nerf, auto-aim penalties for the Gutshot Straight and Slickdraw perks have been reduced, and issues with the Fighting Lion Exotic’s perk has been fixed.

Looking ahead, Bungie plans to shake things up further in Season 22 by implementing a substantial adjustment to weapon zoom. Season 23, on the other hand, will focus on glaives. Bungie promises to reveal more information about the tweaks coming in Season 22 ahead of their arrival but they did reveal plans to reduce the variance between the optimal ranges of several weapon types with “range compression” tweaks and make various adjustments to falloff for Crucible weapons.

In other Destiny 2 news, this week will mark the start of the multiplayer shooter’s Bungie Day Giving Festival, a charity event for the benefit of Direct Relief, College Success Foundation, and the Little Lights Program. The event will feature an in-game fishing derby and an emblem design contest. Bungie is also offering discounts on items from the merch store with a part of the proceeds going to the Bungie Foundation.

Players can also look forward to more game announcements at next month’s Destiny 2 Showcase.
