Destiny 2 Will Launch The Solstice Of Heroes Event On July 31st
Achieving victory even when on the brink of extinction is no mean feat which is why The City’s inhabitants will be celebrating their victory against the Red Legion with The Solstice of Heroes. The event will go live on Destiny 2 servers on July 31st.
“Solstice of Heroes begins on Tuesday, July 31. This event is held in the Tower, and allows the inhabitants of the City to celebrate and thank Guardians for bravely defending them. During this time of celebration, Guardians will once again don the now-broken ceremonial armor from the day the City was lost to the Red Legion. They do this for many reasons: to remind themselves of what it's like to not be invincible; to challenge themselves and thus inspire the City even more; and to eventually reforge that broken gear into something stronger... just as humanity has been broken and reforged over and over again for hundreds of years.”
During the event, players can visit Ikora Rey to gain access to a special event armor set. Players start off with a “Scorched” set which they can upgrade by completing a series of objectives including Redux Missions. Scorched sets can be upgraded to a Shattered set, which can then be upgraded to a Rekindled set, and finally to a Resplendent set which boasts 400 Power.
In line with the event, Bungie has released the July Update for Destiny 2 which introduces 6vs6 Crucible Quickplay, Iron Banner upgrades, new Exotic Catalysts, Exotic Armor tuning, Prestige Raid Lairs, Vanguard and Crucible bounties, and the Moments of Triumph event.
