Dual Universe is now back online after a few days’ respite as the first-person space sandbox MMORPG officially launches on PC. After eight years of development, both old and new players can now finally begin (or restart) their journey for keeps and explore the farthest reaches of the Milky Way galaxy.

The game’s in-depth voxel building mechanics and continuous, persistent game world allows players to shape the galaxy based on their individual and collective actions, opening up a virtually endless world of possibilities. “We have no idea what’s going to happen in this universe,” said Novaquark. “How will this world evolve? How will you leave your mark? Only YOU know.”

The game is now available for purchase on Steam at $14.99 with two weeks of free game time for players who participated at any point during its two-year beta test with lapsed subscriptions. For everyone else, subscription packs are available on the official site starting at $14.99 for a month of game time. There’s also a free demo if you want to check the game out before you decide to fork over your cash.

Don’t forget to check out the official launch trailer below for a glimpse of just some of the stuff you can do and build in Dual Universe’s sci-fi sandbox world.
