Experience Medieval Warfare In Of Kings And Men Later This Month

Medieval sandbox MMO Of Kings and Men will be entering Early Access on August 25, 2016. Up to 200 players will engage in persistent warfare, swinging iron to capture objectives in skill-based combat.

The game's trailer instantly makes me think of Mount & Blade, and for a good reason. Developer Donkey Crew previously created the cRPG mod for Warband, adding an RPG leveling system to the game. It's not clear if there will be RPG stats in Of Kings and Men. But what will require experience is unlocking additional weapons.

As players refine their combat expertise they'll be able to use polearms, crossbows, and other weaponry that bloodied 13th Century battlefield.

Of Kings and Men's combat has been created by building on the experience of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) for an authentic experience. Does that mean my teeth will be clacking before the battle starts?
