Ether Saga Odyssey Shutting Down Jan 4, 2016

Despite running for a solid 6 years, all good things must come to an end. Though, I'm not sure Ether Saga Odyssey was really that great, but regardless, it's always sad to see a game shut down. ArcGames officially announced that Ether Saga Odyssey will bes hutting down on January 4, 2016. All cash shop spending within the game as of June 1, 2015 to October 6th will be 100% credited back to player accounts. As someone who followed Ether Saga for a while, it's a bit surprising to see the game shut down. Not because of the game's bustling popularity (it never had many players online), but because Ether Saga was developed by ArcGames / Perfect World Entertainment. The company has shut down games in the past, but always tittles that they published, not ones that they self-developed.

Prior to this shut down notice, the last update to the game was on November 14, 2014 which was the Demonology expansion. This was almost a full year ago, so clearly ArcGames has been neglecting Ether Saga for some time now. Despite the official servers shutting down, fans of the game can still play on various private servers across the net. Just search google for "Ether Saga Private Server" and you'll find a bunch.
