It was announced some time ago that Square Enix and Perfect World were collaborating on a mobile MMO based on Final Fantasy Type-0, but the game didn't have an official name at the time, much less many gameplay details. That changed yesterday when the official site opened and the companies announced that the game would be called Final Fantasy: The Awakening.

Final Fantasy: The Awakening is built on Unity. It will feature an "exciting" story, large bosses, and a relationship system in which certain characters will buff others just by being in a party with them. Fourteen characters have been announced: the twelve original members of Class Zero, Machina, and Rem.

Final Fantasy: The Awakening is set to launch in China later this year. A Western release has yet to be announced.
