The biggest video game in the West is about to get much bigger. In an announcement made on March 8, 2018 Epic Games revealed their plans to bring Fortnite Battle Royale to mobile.

Signups for the iOS version start on March 12 on the official site. An Android version will take several months, likely because Epic has to optimize the game for several dozen of the top Android devices.

While other Battle Royale games like Rules of Survival are already available for mobile, Fortnite has managed to one-up to competition by promising cross play between PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android versions of the game.

Fortnite already surpassed PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds back in February 2018 when it hit 3.4 million concurrent players, and a cross platform mobile version will see those concurrent numbers at least double in the coming months. Fortnite may even go on to dethrone League of Legends as the world's biggest game!
