It has been nearly two years, but Fractured Space has finally warped out of Early Access and into a launch state. You can now download the game from Steam for free and take to the stars in epic 5v5 battles between capital ships. Two modes, Conquest and Frontline, are available to be played with any of 31 playable ships. Conquest provides a three-lane, MOBA-like experience, whereas Frontline has players to battle it out in a single lane in a 10-minute bid to capture the opposing team's base.

Edge Case Games CEO James Brooksby had the following to say about the announcement.

Our Fractured Space journey started with a small studio, a love for sci-fi and the passion to create the space MOBA game we always wanted to play. With the support of our player community feeding into our Open Development philosophy, nearly 100 updates over two years have brought us to launch with intense team-based battles between teams of giant capital ships vying to dominate sectors, win ship-to-ship battles and achieve ultimate victory by destroying the enemy’s base station.

New features that have been introduced in the weeks leading up to launch include AI captains that replace players that leave matches, matches in which you play against AI captains, the removal of the "random ship rule" from the Frontline game mode, a death screen, a "victory flyby" at the end of each match, custom games, the ability to join the matchmaking queue as a group, and more.

A new DLC pack, the Armada Pack, went live alongside the launch. The Armada Pack grants those that buy it access to all 31 ships currently available in-game and "exclusive Black Edition skins" for the Black Widow, Enforcer, Executioner, Gladiator, Guardian, and Leviathan.
