Halo Infinite Player Discovers A Glitch To Get Splitscreen Co-op To Work

It looks like Halo Infinite players will be getting a couch co-op feature after all, but without the blessing of the game’s developer. After 343 Industries announced that they’ve scrapped the promised couch co-op feature for the first-person shooter this weekend, one Halo Creation community member found a glitch that allowed the feature to work.

Unfortunately, the glitch only works on the Xbox Series X|S so PC players and presumably those on Xbox One are out of luck. Field tests indicate that the glitch works almost perfectly without crashing during cutscenes and no AI problems with another player in tow. There are, however, a few minor issues to related to save files that players should be aware of if they want to try playing with their friends, which speculation points to as a possible reason for the feature’s cancellation.

Regardless, couch co-op is now available to a select group of players, at least until 343 Industries rolls out a fix and spoils the fun for everyone. You can check out the brief tutorial below on how to get local multiplayer working below.
