LawBreakers To Launch In August 8, Open Beta Starts June 30

Unreal 4 powered shooter LawBreakers announced its release schedule last week, right before E3 kicked off. The game will launch for both PC and PlayStation 4 on August 8 2017. The game has had several rounds of alpha and closed beta testing, but those who haven't had a chance to participate yet are in luck. An open beta open to all will run from June 30 through July 3. If you haven't tried the game yet, now's your chance!

LawBreakers was first teased back in 2014 under the codename 'Project BlueStreak' as a collaboration between Korean publisher Nexon and developer Boss Key Productions. Initially planned as a free to play title, LawBreakers switched to a Buy to Play model and will cost $29.99. PlayStation 4 players will need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play the game.

LawBreakers emphasizes fast paced, gravity-defying gameplay. It has more of a classic Unreal shooter feel to it, but focuses on the recent 'hero shooter' trend of team based gameplay in which players form teams using various distinct playable characters. The game has been compared to Overwatch, Quake Champions, and Paladins, but is quite distinct from any of those. Be sure to check out some gameplay trailers and give the open beta a spin to see for yourself!
