Lord Of The Rings Online Replaces Legendary Warsteed Bridles With Normal Versions
In The Lord of the Rings novels, the Riders of Rohan were majestic and highly-skilled soldiers that rode to combat and fought atop their mighty steeds. Standing Stone Games sought to capture this when they rolled out the Lord of the Rings Online expansion of the same name in 2012. Unfortunately, the game’s dated engine couldn’t quite handle the nuances and fluidity of mounted combat and the feature never really caught on.
In line with the addition of mounted combat, the developers also introduced a third legendary item slot where you could equip a Legendary Warsteed bridle. With the recent revamp to Legendary items, the bridles all but became irrelevant. This has prompted the devs to simply retire the items and replace them with non-Legendary versions instead of going through all the trouble of updating them.
As of the latest update, the new non-Legendary bridles are now available from the Eastemnet Miscellany quartermaster located in most Rohan player hubs. The new bridles will come with stats that have been scaled to levels appropriate for mounted combat content.
