Mad World Is Merging All Its Servers Into A Single Multi-Region Server Later This Month

The future is looking rather grim for Mad World as its developer Jandisoft announces plans to condense all of the grimdark MMORPG’s regional servers down to a single all-encompassing server later this month. The mass server merge is scheduled for April 25 and will combine all six of the existing servers across North America, Europe, and Asia into a new server called Belphegor.

All created characters will be transferred to the new server and name change vouchers will be provided for duplicate character and tribe (guild) names. Stashes, in-game currency, collections, and attendance will also be merged per account and all items that exceed the limit will be sent via in-game mail to the character with the highest level. Friends and enemy lists, rankings, and auction house entries will unfortunately be reset. Players are advised to organize their characters and items in advance to streamline the process.

As veteran MMO players probably already know, server merges are a tell-tale sign that a game is bleeding players. Given the scale of the upcoming merges, it looks like Mad World is close to running dry, although Jandisoft claims that it’s to give “a unique experience for more people.”

According to SteamDB, Mad World logged a peak concurrency of 23 players in the last 24 hours with just 13 players online as of this writing.
