Magic: Legends Permanently Doubles Spell Drop Rate And Gives Out A Week’s Worth Of Battlepass XP

magic legends spiders bannerCryptic Studios has made several changes to Magic: Legends in the latest update in response to feedback gathered from the community following the game’s open beta launch last week. Executive Producer Steve Ricossa talks about these changes in his latest State of the Game report for the Magic: The Gathering-inspired MMOARPG.

The latest build doubles the spell drop rate from enemies in Overworlds, Ordeals, and Missions, adds the Dimir Assassin class a level 50 battlepass reward, and improves the game’s overall performance. Over 400 bugs have also been fixed as of the latest update.

Ricossa also announced compensation for the recent issues with the battlepass system. “As the community has progressed through the Battlepass they’ve stumbled upon a handful of quests that couldn’t be completed,” he explained. “In order to make up for these missed quests and give everyone’s progress a nice boost, [. . .] the entire community will be granted Battlepass XP equal to seven daily Battlepass quests plus one weekly quest.”

He also touched on the mid-April update which will introduce additional performance improvements, even more fixes, and several quality-of-life changes. More information to be revealed ahead of the update’s release.

In the meantime, players will be able to enjoy a boost to Aether earned from Overworld activities and Missions this weekend courtesy of the Double Aether Weekend event. Ricossa says that they plan to hold different events every weekend to reward players for their time and to make time spend in the game more meaningful.
