Netflix Releases Opening Credits For Upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Anime Series
Netflix and Studio Trigger have dropped the opening sequence for their upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 anime adaptation, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The show is co-produced by CD Projekt Red and tells the story of a young Cyberpunk fighting for survival in the dark and gritty metropolis of Night City.
“The series tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City — a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he stays alive by becoming an edgerunner — a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.”
Studio Trigger is a Japanese animation studio best known for producing the Little Witch Academia short film (2013), its sequel The Enchanted Parade (2015) and Netflix’ Little Witch Academia anime series (2017). The studio also produced the BNA: Brand New Animal and Kill la Kill animated series and has worked on animation for several video games such as Fire Emblem Fates and Indivisible among others.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is set to premiere on Netflix in September 2022. In the meantime, you can get a taste of the upcoming show in the opening credits and official trailer below.
