A new dungeon is getting the mutator treatment in the New World public test server for those who want first dibs on the new content, specifically the Tempest’s Heart Expedition. Balance changes to the Blunderbuss are also now up for testing.

As with those in the live version of the game, the new Tempest’s Heart mutators will change how the 5-player endgame expedition plays out by augmenting normal and named mobs and changing their attack patterns. Of course, this also translates to better rewards in the form of new resources and Gear Score 600 equipment.

The Blunderbuss has also been nerfed in the PTR with a significant reduction to the ranged weapons overall damage output. Base damage has been reduced from 80 to 75, Mortar Charge damage from 126% to 100%, and Blast Shot’s rend bonus from 20% to 10%. The Containment Unload Ultimate’s ability to stack has also been removed which means that players will only be able to fire one shot of 9 pellets every time the ability is used.

The latest PTR build also comes with several fixes for issues with weapons, combat, quests, Outpost Rush, and the UI. The release notes can be found on the New World official forums if you want to dive into the details.

The dev team also talks about the Blunderbuss, combat, and upcoming events in their latest dev update video below.
