New World’s Delayed Barnacles & Black Powder Expedition Is Now Live

After a week-long delay due to a last-minute issue, New World’s pirate-themed Barnacles & Black Powder expedition is now live. The new expedition will send players to Admiral Blackpowder’s hold to defeat the infamous pirate and his crew in exchange for loot and renown.

• Three new Expedition Mutators will also be available to players who want to up the challenge:
• Icebound: Icebound features mutations that deal Ice damage, apply slow, and spawn glacial crystals with area effects.
• Oppressive: Enemies gain powerful abilities like mana drains and zones of silence, which prevent ability usage for a short period of time.
• Frenzied: This variant applies Curses to players that dodge. Curses stack up and deal damage over time. When Frenzied reaches 3 stacks, it detonates. This explosion deals additional damage to the player and leaves an elemental damage area of effect.

In addition to the new instance, the latest game update also introduces bug fixes for a handful of known issues and various UI improvements. The full patch notes can be found on the New World official site.
