Old School Runescape Adds New Kebos Lowlands Region

While a few days late on this one, Old School Runescape added the new Kebos Lowlands region to the game on January 10th, which was the first major update to the game since it launched on mobile. The Kebow Lowlands update introduces a new region, the town of Brimstone, a new monster (hydra), as well as a new slayer dungeon, farming guild, 2 new quests, and more. Despite the game's age (2001), RuneScape, old school Runescape in particular, is doing better than ever; the game hit an all time high in subscriptions and monthly active users.

“Today’s launch marks an important milestone for Old School RuneScape as it pushes forward with new frontiers for players. Not only does the release of the Kebos Lowlands expand the game’s continent of Zeah, the very first expansion we brought to the game since its launch in 2013, but it’s also the first multiplatform expansion ever in a RuneScape game. With Old School’s sixth birthday just around the corner, Kebos Lowlands provides a great opportunity for newcomers and veterans to explore a new environment and defeat new monsters together.”

This latest update was supported by over 95% of players who participated in in-game polls. For those that aren't aware Old School Runescape features a unique system where all major changes and updates are voted on by players in-game before developers move forward.
