Overwatch Raised $12.7 Million In Their “Pink Mercy” Breast Cancer Campaign
Back in May, Blizzard Entertainment and Overwatch launched their “Pink Mercy” campaign against Breast Cancer. For $15, players were able to unlock a pink Mercy costume. In addition to the in-game costume, Blizzard also sold limited edition Mercy t-shirts for $30 each to help raise more funds. The gaming giant donated all of the proceeds from the campaign to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation which, according to the studio, amounted to $12.7 million.
“Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the Overwatch community during the Pink Mercy charity campaign, we’ve raised more than $12.7 million (USD) to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
This is the largest donation by a corporate partner within one year in BCRF’s 25-year history, and it’s all because of you.”
