Overwatch's First Closed Beta Begins October 27th

Blizzard announced today that Overwatch's first Closed Beta will be held on October 27th. This first Beta will consist of a small number of players chosen to give "tons of top-notch feedback" about the game's core systems. The North American Closed Beta will be first, followed by Europe, and then Asia. The dates for the European and Asian Closed Betas have not been decided upon.

As stated in the announcement, the "goal for the Closed Beta is 100% gameplay feedback." The team want players to scrutinize everything and let them know how they can do it better. Beta Test Weekends will be held at a later date to test hardware. These will have smaller amounts of content, including limitations on heroes and maps.

Keep in mind that you can still sign up for the beta. It will be Windows only, however, and require use of the Battle.net desktop application.
