With 2021 coming to a close, Grinding Gear Games is giving Path of Exiles something to look forward to next year. The studio has laid out their plans for the free-to-play ARPG’s next expansion which is slated for release in early February.

Meanwhile, the current league will be extended by at least two weeks to give the developers some much-needed time off for the holidays. The team promises to announce the exact date for the end of the league as soon as they get back. They’ll also officially unveil the next expansion one week before its launch as with previous expansion launches.

Grinding Gear also touched on the experimental Hard Mode that they’ve been working on as per player requests. According to the team, they’ll be prioritizing the next expansion launch and will be pushing back early testing of the new mode to after the expansion comes out.

In the meantime, the Atlas Invasion event is still underway and the Delirium Everywhere Event will be starting this weekend which should give players plenty of things to do as they ring in the new year.
