Path of Titans is sending a select group of players back to the time of the mighty dinosaurs next week as the cross-platform pre-historic survival MMORPG begins closed beta testing on consoles. The game drops you into the shoes, or rather, the massive scaly feet of a dinosaur, starting their journey as an egg and working their way up to a fully-grown adult.

You’ll be able to choose from an initial lineup of 26 dinosaur species, from herbivores such as the Stegosaurus and Eotriceratops to carnivores like the Deinonychus and the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex. The base species are then divided into various subspecies, each with their own stat bonuses and unique skills and abilities. You’ll be able to customize your dinosaur even further with hundreds of unique skins, markings, and color options.

“Each dinosaur species has unique abilities and skills that allow it to carve out a niche in the ecosystem,” explains developer Alderon Games. “Carnivores can team up in a pack to hunt larger dinosaurs, and herbivores must defend themselves and their food sources by gathering in herds. Whether you are a fishing Spinosaurus or a charging Eotriceratops, make the most of your abilities to survive!

Up to 200 players will be able to play together in one server, which is currently set in the fictional land of Panjura, a massive forested map with a variety of biomes and numerous points of interest. You’ll be able to complete quests and unlock achievements as you try to survive in the unforgiving pre-historic world by foraging or hunting for food, building a nest, and defending yourself against attacks by other dinosaurs.

You’ll also be able to create your own dinosaur adventure and customize your experience by downloading community-made mods or even creating your own by downloading the studio’s modding tools. New dinosaurs, skins, and maps will be added in future updates. In fact, the Alderon is currently working on a new map called Gondwa which will be up for testing soon.

The Path of Titans kicks off on July 27th at 7 a.m. PDT on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S and will be open to all Founder’s Pack owners. The game will also be launching on PC via Alderon’s in-house game launcher and on mobile devices at a later date.
