Pokemon-Inspired 5v5 MOBA ‘Pokemon Unite’ Announced For Nintendo Switch And Mobile

pokemon unite logo white bannerNintendo is looking to take a piece of the MOBA pie with the official unveiling of Pokemon Unite during the Pokemon Presents digital event yesterday. The upcoming Pokemon-inspired 5v5 MOBA is being developed by The Pokemon Company in partnership with TiMi Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent Games,

“Pokémon UNITE is the first strategic Pokémon team battle game. Players face off against each other in five-on-five team battles. During these battles, players will cooperate with teammates to catch wild Pokémon, level up and evolve their own Pokémon. They will need to defeat their opponents’ Pokémon while trying to earn more points than the opposing team within the allotted time. Pokémon UNITE will be free-to-start.”

According to the official press release, the game will be launching on Nintendo Switch as well as Android and iOS devices although a launch date has yet to be announced.
