After launching on the Nintendo Switch last month, Pokemon Unite finally got an official release date on Android and iOS devices during yesterday’s Pokemon Presents digital event. Players who pre-register for the newly-released Pokemon MOBA on either Google Play or the App Store will have the chance to get a free Pikachu unlock if pre-registrations reach 2.5 million accounts. A Pikachu Skin will also be awarded to pre-registered players once pre-registrations reach the 5 million mark.

The Pokemon Company also gave the community their first look at the upcoming Mamoswine and Sylveon characters, although the team has yet to reveal their respective roles in the game.

Meanwhile, the game itself is being criticized for its gacha mechanics that threatens to ruin an otherwise fun game. While gacha mechanics and lootboxes aren’t that big a deal in Asia, western players tend to shy away from the system because of its high-risk gambling nature and its potential to suck money down the drain.

The devs also talked about the other games in the beloved franchise during yesterday’s stream, including Pokemon Sword and Shield and Pokemon Legends: Arceus, as well as the Pokemon Home feature. You’ll find the full Pokemon Presents stream embedded below if you want to dive in to more Pokemon-related announcements.
