Project Genom Enters Early Access In May

Project Genom has been progressing at a steady rate since it entered paid testing at the end of last year. The open world with no loading screens has been implemented, the skill system has been revamped, and more. With all of these changes in tow, the game will finally be launching on Steam Early Access this May.

By the time Early Access begins in May, the team expects to have a number of changes implemented. Character customization will be added. Players will finally be able to craft items, including the ability to use one blueprint to create an item with different materials, each of which gives the item different properties. Vehicles, such as quad bikes, will be added. Each player will have their own "personal cabin"—Project Genom's form of player housing—that they can customize and expand as they see fit. Parties and bosses will be added, allowing players to team up and take down stronger monsters that each have weak spots.

The team also notes that the previous update including the new character progression and equipment systems has moved back into closed testing due to "a critical error found by [...] testers." It will be put back on live servers as soon as possible.
