While Embracer Group are in the process of acquiring Perfect World Entertainment and its subsidiaries, the former has shed light on some interesting statistics about the latter’s portfolio of games. Of significant note are metrics from Cryptic Studios’ operational free-to-play and buy-to-play MMOs.

Embracer’s acquisition report reveals Neverwinter to be Cryptic Studios’ biggest game with over 20 million players to date and over $400 million in revenue generated. That’s miles ahead of Star Trek Online which has logged over 6 million players in its lifetime and generated more than $240 million in revenue. PWE’s flagship game, Perfect World, comes in at third with over 4 million players and over $200 million in revenue generated during its lifetime.

Other big money makers in PWE’s lineup, include the Torchlight series which has made over $65 million to date and Remnant: From the Ashes with over $70 million.

The acquisition deal itself is valued at $125 million with $60 million paid in cash and $65 million in shares. Upon acquiring PWE, the company along with its subsidiaries, Cryptic Studios and Runic Games, will operate independently under Gearbox Entertainment which merged with Embracer in February 2021.
