Improbable Will Be Shutting Down PvPvE Shooter Scavengers On December 16

Earlier this year, Improbable sold off Midwinter Entertainment to Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive as the company moves away from traditional video game development to focus on the creation of their own metaverse. Midwinter’s PvPvE shooter Scavengers, however, remained with Improbable and was relegated to maintenance mode with only a small team of developers left behind to keep everything running.

Unfortunately, it looks like Scavengers won’t remain online for much longer as Improbable announces the imminent closure on December 16th. “The last few months have seen a decline in the playerbase, and whilst we explored many options to reinvigorate server population while the game is in early access, it became clear that it was unsustainable to continue development and live service,” announced the studio. “Your passion, dedication and support for Scavengers has been nothing short of extraordinary. We thank you for taking this journey with us.”

The team is inviting players to jump back into the game a few more times before the game officially goes dark to give the game “the thrilling sendoff it deserves.”
