Over 25 million players have set sail in Sea of Thieves since the pirate-themed MMO launched on PC and Xbox One in March 2018. To celebrate the milestone, developer Rare is giving away 25,000 Gold and 25 Doubloons to all players who login from October 19th to October 26th. One lucky player who logs in between the said dates also stands to win a special prize of 25 million Gold.

Sea of Thieves recently saw record-breaking player numbers with the release of their Pirates of the Caribbean-themed update back in June. The game has also seen numerous content updates over the past few years, including the addition of more underwater content in the latest update, Season 4’s The Sunken Kingdom.

“The pirate ranks of the Sea of Thieves continue to swell, as we’re happy to announce that we’ve reached the auspicious milestone of 25 million players! With the introduction of Seasons earlier this year, and our epic crossover with Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean in Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life, we’ve seen a huge influx of players casting off for the first time and enjoying all the new features and content. We’re going to need a bigger boat…”

The team also gave fans a rundown of the 25 things to try in the game which includes a variety of in-game content and features such as the Emissary system, Tall Tale Checkpoints, Trials and Deeds, and more. You can check that out on the Xbox news site.

There’s also a bunch of new cosmetics and content added in this month’s patch. You’ll find an overview of the October patch right after the jump.
