Sea of Thieves Compensates Players For Missing New Year’s Event Rewards
Around New Year’s, Sea of Thieves brought back its Gold & Glory Weekend event to give players the chance to earn additional reputation and gold by completing certain activities. Rare, however, has been getting complaints of missing rewards which, after a thorough investigation, turned out to be completely unrecoverable.
As compensation, Rare will be giving 100K Gold and 250 Doubloons to all players who logged-in from December 28th and January 8th. The devs have already started sending compensation directly to player accounts. It may take up to 72 hours for the items to arrive and the team is asking eligible players to wait the required time before filing a ticket.
Rare has yet to identify the cause of the issue but have promised players an in-depth explanation in the near future.
After investigating a recent issue of rewards not being received, we have found some data to be sadly unrecoverable. We apologise to those of you who were affected and will be compensating all players who launched Sea of Thieves over the New Year period. 1/4
