Sea Of Thieves Gets Explosive New Content With This Month’s Update

If living the pirate life in Sea of Thieves isn’t exciting enough for you then maybe smuggling exploding cargo might just be the spark you need to bring a little more excitement to your dreary life on the high seas. Black Powder Stashes comes into the game as part of Update 2.0.5, the first in a series of scheduled Monthly Content Updates.

Gunpowder barrels will now be buried in various forts and islands. Turn the gunpowder barrels over to your Trading Company of choice to earn Reputation, titles, and the exclusive Reaper sail, flag, and figurehead for your ship. Players can choose from two explosive smuggling runs: Black Powder Smuggler’s Runs and Reapers’ Black Powder Runs with the latter offering a more competitive challenge as you and your crew work to protect your combustible cargo from rival crews. One well-placed bullet or cannon ball is enough to set off the volatile barrels and blast your beloved ship to smithereens.

The update also includes numerous game balance changes along with a number of quality of life and accessibility improvements including increased Reputation and Gold gains for cashing in meat and fish at The Hunter’s Call.
