New ‘Sunken Curse’ Bilge Rat Adventure Now Live On Sea Of Thieves

sea of thieves sunken curseSea of Thieves has a new Bilge Rat Adventure for all you booty-loving buccaneers. Patch 1.1.6 brings an end to Gunpowder Skeletons and kicks off the new Sunken Curse event.

“Cursed Mermaid Statues are the latest addition to Sea of Thieves. Hidden in the shallows around island shores, they radiate ancient magic. For this adventure, the Bilge Rats are challenging all brave pirates to seek out and destroy the statues. Not all statues are bound by the same curse but they all regenerate health over time, and while some will require more firepower than others to destroy, no more than four players will be required to destroy even the toughest statue.”

Aside from cursed underwater statues, the shallows also hide treasure chests, artifacts, and skulls so be sure to keep your eyes peeled. Bilge Rat Doubloons earned during the event can be exchanged for The Wailing Barnacle costume set. The event ends on July 25th so you better start looking for those sunken statues.

Patch 1.1.6 also includes a new tattoo set, new titles, more informative loading screens, UI updates, performance improvements, and bug fixes. You’ll find the full rundown of changes on the Sea of Thieves official site.

Meanwhile, you can check out the official Sunken Curse trailer below. We’ve also thrown in the latest developer update video where Sea of Thieves Executive Producer Joe Neate talks about the Sunken Curse, new design roles, and the Cursed Sails DLC.
