Sea Of Thieves Adds Text Chat, Brigs, And The Ability To Intentionally Sink Your Ship

Ahoy mateys! Pour yourself a mug of grog, unfurl your sails, and prepare to set sail on a merry tour of the new features that are now available in Sea of Thieves. Microsoft Studios has just released a new technical alpha update video that talks about these new features.

“Since we started the Sea of Thieves technical alpha, thousands upon thousands have been adventuring on the waves, scouring shipwrecks, and cryptic clues and rising above their rivals to lay claim to eye-popping loot. And voyagers in this fantastical world will find their stories influenced by other players who share it with them so these are some of your new tools for richer interaction with pirates whose lives converge with yours.”

These new tools include text chat for players who don’t have access to a mic or would rather stay silent. You can now choose from pre-determined phrases to communicate with other members of your crew. In addition, players now have the ability to throw troublemakers in the brig, scuttle their ship, and have access smaller ships for solo players or small crews.
