Sea of Thieves has made the search for treasure a whole lot easier with the addition of extremely helpful seagulls in the pirate sandbox MMORPG’s latest update. These friendly seagulls will mark the location of treasure dropped by a downed megalodon but will also serve to draw in other players looking to steal the loot for themselves.

Another highlight of the update is the redesign of the Gold Sands Outpost, which has now been rechristened as Port Merrick. Several NPCs from the outpost have been relocated and new points-of-interest have been added, including a fountain and a statue to commemorate the eponymous old pirate.

“Say farewell to New Golden Sands Outpost and give a hearty welcome to Port Merrick!” tweeted developer Rare. “From the shipwright's new home to a fancy fountain and the unveiling of that not-so-mysterious statue, the Outpost's transformation is now complete.”

You can take a quick tour of the newly-renamed Port Merrick and catch a glimpse of the new features that arrived with the update in the new developer video below.
