Shores of Hazeron Receives Major Changes To City Capture

Following a long, heated discussion with several of the game's players, the developer announced in the latest update that Shores of Hazeron has received major changes to the way city capturing works. Previously, players could spend a few minutes razing cities and taking control before moving on to the next one, easily conquering galaxies in a matter of hours. Then, when they were offline, the previous owner(s) would come along and take them back. This occurred ad nauseum until someone got bored, sometimes taking weeks.

Now, captured cities must be physically occupied until their allegiance changes. If it is not occupied, the flag will return to that of the empire that owns it. Neutral political stances will result in allegiance towards the owner of the flag, as citizens do not influence this.

Other changes were made such as removal of the ability to levy tax, as it was being used as an exploit to earn money quickly by essentially destroying their empire and many bug fixes. You can see the full change log at the link above. Still no word on the Mac client.
