Snail Games USA Acquired Studio Wildcard, Developer of ARK, In December, 2015

You might be wondering why Studio Wildcard has been helping with the development of Dark and Light or why Snail Games announced two ARK spin-offs, the Minecraft-like PixARK and ARK GO, in addition to the free-to-play Chinese release of ARK. Well, it turns out that SDE, Inc, an affiliate of Snail Games USA, which is a subsidiary of Snail Games, bought out Studio Wildcard; the merger was filed for on December 4th, 2015. Officially, the company was merged into "Snail Ark, Inc." Unfortunately, we don't know how much Snail Games paid for the company.

This revelation was made due to the fact that new court documents filed by Insight Venture Management, the parent company of Trendy Entertainment that was recently suing Studio Wildcard over a failure to uphold a non-compete clause, referenced the buyout.

So now you know why ARK is slowly being turned into a major franchise, courtesy of Snail Games. The Chinese game developer and publisher owns Studio Wildcard and, by extension, the ARK franchise. It will be interesting to see what they do with the franchise after this initial burst of games.

It's a shame it has to die like this. Was a great game too.. but now it's all just Fatal Error.. crash.. servers dead, wipe, restart.. fatal error.. 2 years and nothing has been done, but at least now we know why.. noone even knew they'd been sold..

The game is running perfectly and incredibly smooth. With improvements made at frequent and regular intervals. I don't like it when people spread false info. Pretending you actually are having those issues....Your issues are either an overly modded custom dedicated server with a poor server admin OR somehow you are trying to play it with a machine that isnt capable. Stability has only improved and at huge leaps since this merger. They are constantly adding content and optimizing. If you follow their official website they are pretty open door in information, more than most companies. Also, they set steep goals that most Devs wouldn't dream of and they meet them. I have over 1000 hours of playing this game. I bought 4 additional copies of it for my wife and kids. I wouldn't do that if it was even half as unstable as you claim.

You're replying to a post made 4 months ago, claiming I'm lying.. moron. If it runs smoothly now.. well that's nice, but 4 months ago it ran like shit and I have over 5000 hours of playing ark.
