Sony Plans To Shut Down PS3, PS Vita, And PSP Online Stores This Summer

playstation store logo bannerSony has confirmed their plans to shut down the PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PSP online stores this summer. The PS3 and PSP online stores will be taken down on July 2 while the PS Vita store will stick around just a little bit longer before it’s permanently shut down on August 27.

According to Gamasutra PS3, Vita, and PSP games and DLCs will no longer be available for purchase after the announced dates although players will still be able to download and play games that they’ve already purchased. They’ll also be able to purchase and download cross-gen and cross-platform games that are also available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

If you’ve got your eye on an old game from any of these stores, it’s probably a good idea to buy them while you still can.
