Star Citizen's FPS game module Star Marine has been shown off in a new demo trailer ahead of its imminent arrival with the Alpha 2.6 update on December 08, 2016. In the trailer we see two teams firing bullets and chucking grenades at each other while trying to control objective points: laptops they have to hack to secure.

Star Marine's gameplay is a fine starting point, generic but good enough for an alpha demo. The one notable feature I took away was player's floating through space while to catch one another in their crosshairs. Otherwise, it's a straightforward team deathmatch over control points.

The news arrives at about the same time as Chris Robert's newsletter announcing that Star Citizen's internal release schedule will be public going forward. Coupled with the newsletter was a 4th anniversary livestream, which is embedded way below.

Star Marine is really a signal of what we can expect when the full Star Citizen project launches. What do you think of the demo?
