Star Citizen has gone a long way since its $2 million Kickstarter campaign back in 2012. While the game is still practically in Alpha after years in development, that’s not stopping players from buying in to the game and purchasing ships that they can use to explore the space simulation MMO’s vast “Persistent Universe.”

As of this writing, the game has raked in over $400 million in funding, with a recent spike in player-spending thanks to the annual Intergalactic Aerospace Expo free-to-play event. The event kicked off last week and will run until December 1st, giving anyone who wants to check the game out a chance to test-fly multiple ships over the next few days.

Meanwhile, the devs over at Cloud Imperium Games have released a new video that offers a preview of the first-person features currently in development. One of the highlights of the video is a tool that shoots a “magic beam” that will allow players to salvage ship debris and use it to repair their own ships. The team also talks about work being done on new ammunition types, such as incendiary and armor-piercing, non-lethal weapons, and a durability system for weapons.

You can check those out and more in the latest episode of Star Citizen Live. You’ll find that right down below.
