Star Citizen Is Free-To-Play Until August 27, New XenoThreat Dynamic Event Kicking Off Today
Cloud Imperium Games’ in-development space simulation MMO Star Citizen is free to download and play from now until August 27. The Free Fly event will include access to six free ship types that will allow new players to experience the different career paths and playstyles available in the game.
The new Ninetails Lockdown Dynamic Event will also be kicking off later today featuring server-wide multi-phase scenarios and massive space battles that will play out over the next few days. The event will be controlled by the devs and will require the coordinated effort of players to complete specific milestones during the event.
“The first phase for the new and improved XenoThreat Dynamic Event is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Aug. 25. Phases 2 and 3, where the players rally to resupply the UEE and defend against XenoThreat’s forces, will follow quickly thereafter and run through the rest of the month and into early September, concluding on Tuesday, September 7.”
Starter Packs are also available at a discount until August 30 at 1pm PDT for those who participated in the Free Fly event. Details can be found on the Star Citizen official site.
