Nexon announced today that Sudden Attack 2 will be shutting down on September 29, 2016, barely a month after launching. The closure is due to a perfect storm of bad news.

Some players complained that two Sudden Attack 2 characters were too titillating after other players posted promiscuous photos and videos of the pair. They were promptly deleted, but the playerbase waned after the sexy duo left the arena.

But that's not all. According to Steparu Sudden Attack 2 developer GameHI ended their contract with Nexon for undisclosed reasons. It's possible GameHI will look for a new publisher.

The news also arrives as Nexon founder Kim Jung Ju is stepping down as director after being indicted for corruption:

Nexon shares fell 4.4 percent to 1,540 yen Friday in Tokyo. Kim founded Nexon in 1994 and has a net worth of $2.5 billion, according CEOSCORE, a Seoul-based corporate watchdog group. Source: Bloomberg

It's not a great month for Nexon.
