Since The Finals launched into open beta back in October and its full release earlier this month, it’s managed to capture the attention of millions of players across the globe. Developer Embark Studios reports that the game show-styled free-to-play shooter has broken the 10-million-player mark, placing it securely on the 11th spot of Steam’s Most Played Games list.

“We’re so humbled and excited by the response from the community so far — 10 million players this soon is something we never could have dreamed of,” touts the devs. “We will continue to improve and add to the experience, and make sure we keep surprising our community for years to come.”

While the launch rush seems to have died down by a fair bit, the recently released title is still peaking at over 110,000 concurrent players each day. For context, it set an all-time peak concurrency record of 242,619 players the weekend after it launched.

Whether The Finals will be able to maintain its promising turnout through to 2024 and beyond remains to be seen. Meanwhile, its first holiday event is well underway and will run until January 3, offering a snowy Monaco-inspired map and free holiday-themed cosmetics.
