The PlayStation 5 has a lot going for it, and everybody seems to want to own or at least take Sony’s next-gen console for a test run since it came out two weeks ago. In fact, Sony says that the PlayStation 5 launch was their biggest console launch to date, surpassing that of the PlayStation 4 which sold 2.1 million units in just over two weeks when it launched in 2013. Since the PS4 launch was considered the biggest console launch ever before PS5, that effectively makes the latter the biggest console launch in history.

The PS5 launched in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea on November 12th and the rest of the world, except China, on November 19th. According to GamesIndustr.biz, Sony expects the PS5 to outperform the PS4 by the end of the fourth fiscal quarter which sold 7.6 million units in Q4 2013.

Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and S also did well, and were the biggest Xbox launches of all time.
